About 26 Front Street
Here was born Joseph C. Yates Nov. 9, 1768. He was the first mayor of Schenectady, state senator, judge of the Supreme Court, and Governor of the State of New York. Died at his residence, East corner Governor’s Lane, March 19, 1837. Centennial tablet 1898.
